Hi all
Has anyone managed to do this yet? The Billion UK knowledgebase article below mentions that setup instructions will be found in a separate article (still yet to be found!?! )

I tried without success to do this and would like to use my existing router instead of the Sagem box they have sent me. Can anyone help?

It depends if your sky router is using MER authentication or not.
Have you logged into your Sagem box to see if you are using MER authentication or not.

Yup
Looks like you're right and that Sky are using MER authentication. I thought I'd successfully spoofed my MAC, but no

It looks like it may not be possible after all?!?
Can there be a firmware fix around this like for the 7800??

Billion don't have firmware for the 7300 series routers that works with Sky FTTC. You will have to get hold of a 7800N and install the beta firmware posted on the 7800 forum.Swissola wrote:Yup

The instruction in the link will only allow the router to connect for up to 30 mins until the IP lease expires then it will disconnect. Sky use a modified variant of MER that has MAC and username/password authentication.

I know they don't have a firmware.
My question is could they have a firmware or do the hardware limitations of the 7300N stop this?

*bump* Admins?
Can anyone tell me if this is possible with the 7300N router? Do any hardware, chipset, etc. elements of the 7300N stop the authentication method implemented in the 7800?

Re: 7300n Sky FTTC EWAN Settings
The 7300N will not work with Sky MER authentication either on FTTC or ADSL.
There is no plan to add this feature at the current time.
As it stands the Bipac 7800 series is only product that will support SKY MER on ADSL or FTTC.
