Port Mapping the 7300N

Post by tarquinius »

♦I am unable to get port mapping working - with a Foscam FI8910 web cam.

I am trying to map external port 21 to internal port 8091 with my static ISP.

"Canyouseeme" can see IP/port address (21), which are the details in my smartphone app. for the webcam and both my phone and PC can see the webcam in WIFI.

Any helpful suggestions would be very much appreciated, as I have now checked everything I can think of and am really stuck!

Have you checked the gateway address on your web cam to ensure it points to the routers internal IP address??

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, it looks to be OK as 192.168.1.254 - the default router address.

Any other suggestions will be gratefully received, as I am at my wits end!

Have you tried to open port 8091 (internal and external) and then change the port on your app

Port forwarding is working fine on the 7300N, there are no reported issues

Thank you again, but I don't understand how to do what you suggest - How do I "Open a Port"?

Thank you for your patience in trying to help me.

I have changed nothing but the app has started to work.

The only explanation I can see is that there has been a recent update of the app - IP Cam viewer by Robert Chou.

Thank you again.
