8200N BT FTTC Connection Instructions

Post by Brian Coat »

I'm struggling to get a connection using the little UK set up guide booklet that came with my 8200n

Please can anyone point me to some clear instructions for how to get this modem/router to hook up to BT FTTC?

One with screenshots would really help?

Thanks.

OK so now I'm registered to the forum, I found I could download a more legible version of the booklet from this board. Great!

So I tried again and still got no joy.

Here are settings and logs.

SETTINGS (I have screen shots but can't figure how to easily cut n paste them.)

VLAN Group Parameters: BT, 101, five ticks [four ports and WLAN], Tag WAN (NAT)
Username: bthomehub@btbroadband.com Password: BT
IP Address: 0.0.0.0
Authentication Protocol : Auto

Main Port: VDSL
Protocol: PPoE

ALL THE SCREENS LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THE GUIDE except VLAN Group Parameters where the screen in the guide has no WLAN box column to tick.

Software:1.06a.dt6

STATUS
Ethernet, VDSL, Wireless all have green ticks EWAN has red cross
Connection: Connecting ... then .... No Response

Try the attached firmware, don't forget to reset back to factory default settings and manually reconfigure the device again.

Pass- admin (default)
1 - click on ADVANCED. in left window
2- click on CONFIGURATION

Thanks for this info.
I was having same problem.
My BT Hub 5 was resetting every night due to a so called software update call from BT's side so lets see what happens now. This was crippling my connection :( .
Got a 8200N to see if its better, although my upload is less hopefully it will get a chance to retrain up.
THANKS AGAIN!!
