Desc MER_0_0_40
VPI/VCI 0/40
Encap MUX
Nat Enabled
Mac Spoofing "Blank"
Client ID from "wireshark"

If you are using ADSL you need to change the protocol to PPPOA, and enter your sky username and password in the sections provided

No need to clone the MAC, and the username should end with @skydsl

HI Thanks for the info

I have tried as you suggest with connection mode set to ADSL
protocol to PPPOA will not connect I left it for 30 Mins with username and password I did not change anything else.

For Sky I have read it uses MEP to connect and that's how my Sky modem connects.
But I can not get this to connect however I set it up except by using EWAN and the sky router as a modem with its Wi-Fi turned off

I really want to get to one box and not use the sky router at all

I am trying on 1.06h firmware but its the same.

Once setup with PPPOA/ADSL, check the status page of the router to see if it states authentication failed.

With SKY ADSL customers the protocol to use is PPPOA. (with your username and password entered)

It looks like the router is loosing sync with the ADSL line, as far as I know, most customers can still use PPPOA even though there Sky router is using MER, from reports with other sky users if MER fails on the 7800, they use PPPOA and it works fine.

Regarding the ADSL losing sync I would suggest visiting this page http://192.168.1.254/snr.html and change the SNR value to 150, once you click on 'Apply' the router will drop its DSL sync and resync once resynced lets see if the DSL connection stays up, (meaning the DSL light on the front of the router stays on solid)

It seems the 7800 is unable to sync with your line, from the ADSL link down messages, so PPPOA/MER authentication method is not important as the DSL is not syncing. (if you can get the DSL light to stay on, then we can move on to PPPOA)

Have you tested your DSL line with Sky's equipment, does it sync up?? (skys equipment should have a light that indicates the router is synced)

Hi yes the sky router conects fine all lights on.
