7800N with Huawei b535

Post by MrBlibby »

Looking to replace my fixed broadband connection, with a mobile 4G+ one. I have a Huawei b535-235 which connects OK with good speed when in its standalone router mode. I'm trying to use it in bridge mode and connect it using a ethernet cable between the EWAN port on the 7800n and the LAN/WAN. I have the b535 in bridge mode and I have added a Bridge profile onto the 7800n Wan interface config and it shows as being 'up' when connected. New wireless clients connecting to the Billion router are served an IP address from the 7800n and seems to be assigning the IP address of the b535 as the gateway IP and I can ping the b535 from the 7800n and log on the b535 web menu from PCs hard connected to the 7800n, so it seems the basic connectivity is OK. The issue I have is that I can get internet connectivity. Has anyone been able to get this combination of 7800n and B535 or B525 successfully working - I've seen some posts mentioning DMZ settings, butnot sure what this would do or if required. Any advice would be welcome, thanks

Normally you set the Bridge on the Huawei and then set the 7800N EWAN to obatin a IP address automatically (IPOE) so the 7800N WAN should obtain a bridged IP address from the Huawei
