Been running this MER beta firmware for a while, got up this morning and no internet had a look at the router and was also stuck at DHCP CLIENT IN PROGRESS.
Put back sky router and all was OK
Updated router to 1.06g and did a factory reset entered details and still get the DHCP CLIENT IN PROGRESS the log shows

so changed to PPPOA and is working again.
Not sure what is wrong.

Same here, I've reverted back to PPPoA until we can figure out what's stopping the connection??

Hi Guys

So it seems that Sky may have made changes to their MER authentication.

Does anyone still have MER working?

Has anyone tried spoofing the mac incase sky have added option 60?

Mine's still working OK.

No resync'd at all recently so will wait & see what happens then.

Maybe Sky are rolling out changes exchange by exchange.

Mines still running fine (On mer) after 3 days on the G firmware.
This is just an idea, but login to my sky and check that the DLM is not running on your line.
Last week while i was using the sky sagem router i noticed it was doing strange things ie, disconnecting, reconnecting between ppoa and mer.
I couldnt understand it. Tried the Billion and it was not happy. Waited a few days until my sky said DLM had finished & then reconnected the Billion & bingo its been as sweet as a nut ever since (on mer). (Touchwood)
So just a thought, see if Dlm is running on your line.
Best Regards, Will

Hi Will,

DLM is definitely not running on my line - I think it might have something to do with individual exchanges if it's not affecting everyone??

I just cannot understand why it worked before I went to bed and wasn't when I woke up??

Regards

Does seem strange . Only thing i have noticed where i am (Wantage in oxfordshire) is that my sync speed is always been around the same (16382) but the actual throughput has varied greatly of late. Where has it has always been rock solid predictable over the last 4 years, the last month or so its been very poor for a couple of hours, then back up to how it was (good). Thats what made me mess about about between the sagem & the Billion (thats what probubly started the dlm off on my line again. me farting around).
Now getting around to what i was trying to say.
They are putting the fibre in around here. The cabinet went in at the top of my road last month. I notice that it is suppose to go live/me be able to order on june 30th. So maybe this is something to do with the strange connection issues. As i walked passed our cabinet this week a bt chap had it open & i noticed alot of led flashing, so something is obviously going on, and maybe its having an effect on the adsl.
I think i will go for the fibre when it comes. Its that or be left with the dreges that come up the line. Lets face it, there has to be a limit each exchange can get.
Best Regards, Will
