7800N Firmware

My UK Spec ADSL 7800N Router is starting to be sluggish and was going to restart it, thinking good time to update the Firmware also (two birds one stone)

I notice that the UKBillion7800NV6_1.06d.zip file seems to indicate a "V6" router, does this mean the firmware is unsuitable for my older 7800N Router, or are they all V6 or will it just update to V5,4,3,2,1?? Spec?

I can't seem to see even what my Router version is in the web GUI *sigh*

to recap

1, is the UKBillion7800NV6_1.06d.zip firmware safe for all routers?

2, how to tell which version I have

3, how to get V1,2,3,4,5 firmware?

:)

Hi David

Here are your answers.

1. Firmware UKBillion7800NV6_1.06d.zip is safe to use with any Bipac 7800N, (it has added IPv6/PPTP support)

2. You can find the version you have by logging on to the router interface (http://192.168.1.254) and check the software version on the status page, listed under 'Device Information'

3. If you need older firmware you can request here in the forum (maybe some other users have the firmware you are looking for) or you can contact Billion UK Support and request the firmwares you want.

Thanks

Been running 1.06d on my approx 6 month only 7800N since the last reboot which was going on for 73 days ago - as normal the router is wonderfully stable but with the added luxury of IPv6.
