One-To-One NAT and firewall

Post by john2018 »

Hi

My firewall is enabled on my WAN connection and I have a One To One NAT setup for a specific internal IP, I can connect to this IP on port 443 (which I want) but I haven't enabled this anywhere so am wondering whether firewall is bypassed for One To One NAT?

Regards
John

When using one to one NAT there is no firewall, hence it is recommended to use a software or hardware firewall. (this only effects the one to one NAT external IP, the routers WAN and NAT enabled IP's will be protected as long WAN firewall is enabled)
