I have downloaded upgraded the router software. Rebooted in default mode.
Everything restarted and I manually re-configured via quick start menu.
VDSL2 internet connection ok.
Pouter Wireless connection speed is now very poor.
A speedtest via my iphone app for the wifi/ router is now 15mb/s slower than before the upgrade ( measured physically next to the router).
My Devol homeplugs with wifi access are the same speed testing as they were.
Please can another upgrade be made available to restore the routers own wifi speed?

Hi billion_fan
is it possible to go back to software version 2.52.d3 if there is no way of fixing the slow wifi?

I would suggest trying to change the wifi channel the router outputs on, maybe try channel 1 or 11.

Also yes you can downgrade the firmware to 2.52.d3 if needed.

Also I ran a quick test here, and the wifi speeds are fine attached is a screen shot of speedtest from around 15- 20 meters away, 8800NL R2 in another room.

billion_fan Thank you for your reply. I will try your suggestions changing channel. Failing any improvement I will downgrade firmware to 2.52.d3 to see if the wifi speed by the router is restored.

Hi

We are a business level ISP and without going too specific into the numbers have a large number of these (Billion 8800NL R2) out in the field however we have been noticing some issues mainly denoting around throughput.

We have seen the issue in which circuits achieving High sync rate (Or as close to as possible depending on the reporting ie 79.99Mbps download and 19.99Mbps Upload) seeing their throughputs drop to roughly between 38 - 40Mbps Download and 15Mbps upload, this is with various testing methods including the BT Wholesale Speedtest, the Zen Wholesale Speedtest and the good ol speedtest.net all with the same results give or take a few Mbps. This is also connected directly in with a cat 6 Ethernet Cable and a computer with a gigabit port full duplex (i know that none of the circuits are going to be above 100Mbps but some computers with only 100Mbps Ethernet Port have hardware limitations that make even reaching 50Mbps difficult)

These circuits are cross carrier, different locations,Both LLU and the old DLM Stuff all with the same results.

However if we downgrade these to 2.52.d1 then instantly throughput goes up to 70Mbps, this is without any other intervention ie changing ethernet cables around or anything like that so it'd be good to know if this could be looked or if we could worth together to investigate this.
