QoS breaks 5Ghz Wifi on 8800 R2

Post by ElderScroll1985 »

Hello.

If I activate QoS for my connection, for both download and upload (using the limited feature), the 5Ghz wifi breaks. Not sure what the exact conditions are to replicate it because it does work at first, but after a few minutes or hours - it varies, it breaks. I tried testing changing different wifi settings but nothing worked. My best guess for replicating this is. Turn on QoS for both download and upload, do 5Ghz wifi, connect your phone to it, browse a few websites, then just lock your phone and do something else. Come back in an hour, browse things on your phone again and at this stage the you will not have internet access or it will break very shortly. Basically when it breaks it does say that I am still connected to 5Ghz but "without internet access".
2.4Ghz seems to work fine though, so for now I fully disabled 5Ghz.

I am on latest firmware btw.

I searched the forum and it seems I am not the only one to experience this either.

These two specifically mention QOS, but there is more on this forum just search "Wifi" or "5ghz" issues, sometimes people dont even know why it's broken, perhaps because they did not realise the QOS link yet. Can we get this addressed please? Thank you.

Will you be able to provide a copy of config file with the QOS rule added, so we our engineers can try and replicate the issue with your settings.

If you can please send a copy of your config file to support@billion.uk.com.
