SNMP rate limiting queries to 1 per second

Post by jez_uk1 »

Hi

I've had my 8900AX-2400 for about 3 years or so. It has always rate limited SNMP queries to roughly 1 per second and I haven't been able to find a way to change that restriction. Is there any way to do so?

It's really quite frustrating, the 7800N wasn't like this. The main problem I've experienced is that I can't have multiple computers running, for example, NetWorx. The router only seems to issue one answer per second (in total), so multiple computers checking every second doesn't seem to work out very well.

As a result I've had to write software on my Linux server that queries the router once per second, and then itself runs an SNMP server so that multiple clients can get the information whever they like from the Linux server instead.

What is the reason for the 8900 doing this, and please is there any way this can be improved upon in a new firmware release?

Thanks

Seems to be no change with the latest firmware. Also when downloading, snmp completely freezes up and doesn't respond to any queries until the download has finished.

Thanks. I've had to disable SNMP in the meanwhile.

Any updates? Should I go back to d24 until this is resolved?
