Priority setting for bandwidth demand ?

Post by stevebez »

Hi there,

My son was downloading a large program affecting my WFH activity - I was wondering if there a setting in the Bipac 8900 where there is a connected device priority setting or bandwidth cap for certain devices?

Thanks.

Attached screen shot example of a QOS rule

1. First setup a static IP lease for your sons PC so the IP address never changes (Configuration >> LAN >> Static IP Lease List >> Add, enter the MAC address, rule name and IP address outside the DHCP range)

2. Follow the QOS rule example to limit the download speeds of the entered IP address to 60% (this will be the IP address you entered in the Static IP Lease List eg your sons PC)
