Still no luck here setting up simple port forwarding
My Steps
~~~~~~~~
1)Reset router to default settings (just to be sure)
2)Installed Beta firmware as you have stated (also tried original firmware) Firmware version using = BiPAC 7700N_B038_N28_GH_UK-00-3646.afw
3)Rest router to default settings after flash (as you have stated)
4)Setup adsl settings only.
5)Tested internet. Working ok.
6)Go into Advanced setup> Nat > Virtual servers and set up as follows.
Use Interface = Left as default as there is only one setting
Set a CUSTOM service =Test
Server IP = 192.168.0.3 (I can ping this IP on my lan, and also if I goto
http://192.168.0.3:9876 I get asked to login to the service which i am running and want to port forward to. So all working ok)
External Port Start = 9876
External Port End = 9876
Protocol = TCP/UDP
Internal Port Start = 9876
Internal Port End = 9876
Click apply/save
7)Goto Device info> WAN
8)Copy WAN ip address e.g 176.251.243.169
9)Open up web browser and type
http://176.251.243.169:9876
10)Get unable to connect to server error message in browser. Goto
http://192.168.0.3:9876 and service is still working ok.
11)If i type in just
http://176.251.243.169 into my browser I get asked to login to the routers web interface. Thus showing Ip address is correct but port forwarding not working.
12) There are no firewalls on the server running the service or the laptop i am trying to access the service from. The only firewall that is running is on the router itself. Ive turned this off and also tried allowing port 9876 but no difference.
If i grab my old Router a Netgear DG834N, it works no problem at all with the same setup. Ive also tried it with a friends router. Also no problem. Just not working on this 7700N.
If I go to
http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ it says 9876 is open.
Im not trying to question you, but I do find it slightly strange that this problem is not just reported by me on this forum. Check these as well
^Could only get round the problem by using a DMZ
There is also some poor reviews on Amazon.co.uk for this model. See review by "honestsam". He also states that port forwarding doesn't work.
Im starting to think that unless you purchase the 7800 then, we have no luck at support or updates for this model.
*RANT OVER*
Where do i go now?
Thanks in advance.
