8800axl

I currently have Bt infinity while using the 8800nl and am thinking about buying the 8800axl but there doesn't seem to be much feedback in the uk forums, the Australian forums seem to slate the axl router, is it really worth the upgrade or am I better waiting for a non light version or will I be waiting for a long time for a vdsl2 router?

I've been using a 8800AXL for a coupe of weeks now and have had few issues with it. The wireless coverage is not quite as good as the 8200N it replaced but that isn't a big issue for my location. The VDSL connectivity is faster and more stable.
You mentioned waiting for a "non light" version or "waiting a long time for a VDSL2" router. What did you mean by that? The DSL page on mine shows it is using VDLS2.
Also, which Australian forums are you accessing? I tried to get into au.billion.com/forums/ but that seems to detect that I'm not in Australia and won't let me in.

Hi thanks for reply I was on the whirlpool forum there is quite a bit of discussion on the axl as they had it back in April and they talk of an 8900 version coming shortly but that's in Australia, so we seem at least 6 months behind here, I did have the 7800dxl which was connected with the openreach modem but I wanted an all in one router which is where the 8800nl came in but single band one gigabit port wasn't great so have been looking for something to cover my needs which the axl covers most but was dubious about what I read in the Australia forums, I see they are selling for under £100 there so not been a great hit, not sure if I'm asking too much of a router as I have about 15 - 20 wireless Devices and about 10 hard wired 8 through the switch on the gigabit port, and a couple using the other ports, wireless isn't great even tho it only travels up through floorboarded ceiling, but part problem could be the fact the router is in a cupboard surrounded by equipment, so maybe that has an impact on performance. Just want something to handle plenty of device and is stable. Wishfull thinking.

Now that sounds good but what is soon roughly?

No ETA yet, as I only have a beta sample (if I had a retail version I would assume it would be sooner, remember I'm not sales so I won't have a price/ETA)

Forgot to add it has 4 gigalan ports, 1 gigalan EWAN port, usb port and has a stand to so the router can be installed standing up or lying down, or wall mounted, and most important AC Wireless
