Hi,
I just purchased a Billion 7800DXL.
As I'm not a WiFI fan I've decided to cable my house.
I've just installed 2 boxes containing each 2 RJ45 plugs. On one side, it goes to the port 2 and 4 of the modem/router, on the other side it goes:
- to a 8 port hub
- directly to my PS4
On the router, I've got green lights on port 2 and 3. Same on my hub.
If I go to status / statistics / LAN, I can see traffic. And no error. But, the Internet setting on the PS4 fails. Same as the Internet setting on the TV (connected to the hub).
If I go for WiFI, all good.
It looks like my cabling is fine. How can I figure out where the problem is?
Thanks

Re: Weird networking issue ...
I went a bit further...
I've set 'DHCP hostname' manually to 192.168.1.254 on my PS4. But still failing despite having on the PS4 screen:
Internet connection:On
Connection method: LAN Cable
IP Add Settings: Automatic
DHCP Hostname: 192.168.1.254
IP: 192.168.1.132
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254
Primary DNS: 192.168.1.254
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
...
So, it looks like I can't manage to get the DNS ...

Managed to sort it out (I think).
I went to Advanced Set Up > DNS > DNS and ticked Use the following Static DNS IP address and set the Google DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) for Primary and secondary DNS).
But still can't understand why I had Internet access through WiFI on my laptop ...

That's a strange one, one thing to try maybe is to fix a static IP to your PS and see that helps.OlivierS wrote:Managed to sort it out (I think).
