7800DXL & SNMP

Post by basiluk »

I am having no joy at all in getting SNMP working with my router.

The OID's that I am trying to access are:

SNR Margin - Upstream

OID = 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.97.1.1.2.1.5.2

SNR Margin - Downstream

OID = 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.97.1.1.2.1.5.1

Line Speed - Upstream

OID = 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.97.1.1.2.1.10.2

Line Speed - Downstream

OID = 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.97.1.1.2.1.10.1

Line Attenuation - Upstream

OID = 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.97.1.1.2.1.6.2

Line Attenuation - Downstream

OID = 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.97.1.1.2.1.6.1

But I cannot get any date from them - I am accessing the unit through its internal IP address, with community strings correct. Any ideas from anyone ?

your OID are good, I have test them, when it works :lol: when smpd don't crash

my idea... you have the same problem as me, as many other users: snmpd crash
you can see it in the system log
daemon warn kernel: snmpd/837: potentially unexpected fatal signal 11.
or see my post: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3498

Thanks for that. The 7800 is a very capable router and has some features that are first class - SNMP is important to anyone with more than 20 devices, and I would love to get this working as it should be.

Thanks in advance.

At the risk of hijacking this thread, is there a list of OIDs supported on the Billion routers anywhere? Things like Error counts, attainable rates etc.
Thanks
Tom
