Bipac 8800NL and Home Hub 5

Post by pintosal »

I recently bought a Bipac 8800 NL to replace an HG612.

As others have found, the WiFi is fairly poor on the Bipac.

However, I have now acquired a Home Hub 5, which is reputed to have good WiFi performance.

Should I replace the Bipac even though it performs very well on the fibre broadband?

Alternatively, can I use the Home Hub 5 solely as a Wireless access point, and if so, how?

I am sure I have read somewhere before where you can do this - but am not too sure how!

You need to find a guide to help you set up the HH5 in EWAN mode, so you can connect the 8800NL once setup in bridge mode, to the EWAN port on the HH5 (with the '802.1P Priority' set to 0 and the ' 802.1Q VLAN ID ' set to 101 for the PTM interface within the 8800nl)
