Hi
So i got the 7800DXL a couple of weeks ago and i'm having a slight issue with the ethernet.
When i first start up my computer it will connect to the router straight away (Green light) but about 30 seconds later the ethernet light on the router will go Orange. It stays Orange for a few minutes then goes back to Green, then back to Orange shortly after. Every time it cycles through Green and Orange i lose my connection for about 10 seconds. It will do this for about 10-15 minutes before it finally stays Green.
I know the Green and Orange lights indicate speeds but it shouldn't be dropping my connection right?
I've updated drivers on my PC and the router does have the latest firmware.
Any help would be appreciated.
PS. I only have basic networking skills.

Re: Ethernet issue 7800DXL
It could just be a cable fault. Gigabit Ethernet uses 4 pairs, and if one of them is intermittent the Laptop NIC, and router, will re-negotiate the link speed. The momentary disconnection that you see is most likely to be this re-negotiation phase, as the router will go to a non forwarding state whilst this happens.

Thanks for the reply, i'll order a new cable to see if that fixes it.
