8800AXL connecting Macbook connection timed out

I'm having a lost of stress getting my girlfriend's Macbook 2006 laptop connected to the 8800AXL router! Error is connection time out. I've tried various things:

1. removing SSID details from Macbook
2. Removing WIFI details from Apple Air port
3. Removing WIFi details from Keychain & re-adding.
4 Adding Mac address of Mac to router safe allow list.
5. Changing network Authentication to Mixed WPA2/WPA/PSK.
6. Restarted Router and Macbook.

One thing I did notice is that on the Lan setting: It says IGMP Snooping mode is set to Blocking Mode. Is that an issue?

Please has anyone a solution? would very much appreciate anyones help.

Try disabling the MAC filtering for the 2.4ghz or 5ghz band you are connecting to, and then attempt to connect again.

The link you provided to troubleshoot points to the Mountain Lion OS - I am on Yosemite and all is ok - maybe you need to upgrade the OS?

Yes, I know its Mountain Lion. (I have Snow Leopard) This all happened when I bought this router. It's worked for a while, last 4 weeks.

Sorry mate, I haven't tried it yet as I'm at work. I did remote in from work, but I've lost the connection. lol will try tonight.
