Eero and 8800NL in Bridge Mode

Post by cheesecake »

I've always just had my 8800NL acting as both the modem and router but I recently got an Eero system (Pro 2nd gen) that I want to use as a router/gateway. Main reason is SQM function etc. I am on BT FTTC.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to give it a connection. I'm using the 8800NL in bridge mode. I set that 0 and 101 tag and other stuff but the Eero app always fails to get a connection.

Attached is a guide to help you setup the 8800NL in bridge mode.

Once done, plug a ethernet cable from the Billion (any lan port) to the Eero WAN port, then configure the Eero's WAN for a PPPoE connection, with your broadband username and password entered.

The guide talks about disabling DHCP. Will DHCP still be active even if the 8800NL is put into "dumb modem" mode?

If there are more then one WAN interface added then either delete the one not used or disable the DHCP.

DHCP is still on/there because there are two default WAN interfaces ATM and PTM
