Will I need to reset to 'factory' after this update? Having struggled through (with your help) the multicast saga and the port forwarding it is not a prospect I relish! I noted the 'latest' on the forum (52) but bottled out at the thought of a factory reset!
Give it ago with 'Current Settings' option used on the firmware upgrade page (you can always downgrade if needed)

This firmware is the latest version I have, but as your laptop has no issues, I am not sure if it is related to the router

Do you plex client devices also run off wireless??

Will try later, thanks, BF. The 'working' Plex 'servers' (laptops) are connected wirelessly, the PC (to which I cannot connect) is Cat5 to Powerplug to router powerplug. It is the PC 'server' where I cannot sustain 'remote access' (laptops do) and the Firestick cannot 'access' that router, but can see the laptops' Plex 'servers'.

Sorry 'bout that - I logged in with an old forum address!

Before I do the upgrade, how can I find and download the existing firmware file in case I need to retreat? All it says is 2.32e

You might need to upgrade and run through the port forwarding rules again, as 2.32e had a issue where wireless devices cannot see wired devices and visa versa, the newer firmware should fix it, but you need to reset back to factory default settings and manually reconfigure the device again for it to work

OK - upgraded to 2.32e.d14. Tried 'current settings' but no go. Reset to factory and re-did Virtual server and it appeared to stay 'ok' with remote access - :-). I then needed to re-configure the router for multicast to enable my Youview box to receive the internet channels. Now I cannot enable remote access again! :-(

If it is any help, this is the guide I used to re-set the multicast bits https://www.increasebroadbandspeed.co.u ... -multicast

Is the youview box working now??

Have you tried to reboot the router??

Also try adding the virtual server rules again, selecting the correct 'Interface' when setting up the forwarding rules

Also try adding the virtual server rules again, selecting the correct 'Interface' when setting up the forwarding rules Done TCP/UDP is what you said.

This is turning into a nightmare! This morning I looked into the router after your post to find the Virtual Server and static IP 'missing', althought the multicast settings were still there. I reset them. I got Remote access. Then I didn't. Now on every re-boot I get a green 'remote access' which lasts for a few seconds and then fails.

...and just to make my day complete, I now have no 'Remote Access' on either (wifi connected) laptop.

Is UPNP still enabled, are the UPNP rules showing under the 'Virtual Server' list??

Also make sure the laptop and server are using a different remote access port or try changing the manually assigned remote access port to a different port then adjust the virtual server rule

- it was after upgrade but as per your earlier instructions I deselected it and deleted the entry.

Also make sure the laptop and server are using a different remote access port - not clear on that. I read that 32400 is the one to use for PLEX? To be clear, I am failing to get remote access to the installed PLEX server on both laptops when the selected routing is to that installed server, not the PC server.

Remote access feature is for external access, locally it should work, as the long as the IP's haven't changed,

Plex state

Important: If you manually forward your port in your router, then you must enable the Manually specify port checkbox. If you don’t, your Server will not use the specified port.

So each laptop plex server should have a different port
