A few minor bugs in 7800DXL 2.24b firmware

Post by tim_hamblin »

Hi,

Just found a couple minor bugs with the 7800DXL v2.24b firmware...

Status Homepage - only a cosmetic issue: ;)
Device Information > System Up-time is displayed in the following format: --D --H --M --S
but for WAN > Connection Time this is displayed in the following format: x Day(s) hh:mm:ss

NTP time servers - bit more of an issue: :geek:
Configuration > System > Internet Time
Any changes that are applied are not saved, and just return back to the default IP address entries.
In fact the First NTP time server entry (192.43.244.18) isn't even valid...
192.43.244.18 / time.nist.gov
Not active in the pool, monitoring only
Server admin: ask
Zones: @ north-america us
This server is scheduled for deletion on February 27, 2013.
Current score: -100.0 (only servers with a score higher than 10 are used in the pool)
And if you did actually need a Fifth NTP time server - nothing happens when you try to change it...

Hopefully these will be ironed out with the 'other' issues in the much anticipated next firmware release... :P

I just tried and changed the NTP servers to the following

109.68.191.23 and 147.231.100.5 (this one was added as a fifth NTP server) these changes were accecpted on my test 7800DXL, as shown in the attached screen capture (firmware version 2.24b)

Thanks for testing the NTP server settings for me billion_boy...

After a bit of testing I found my issue was with my web-browser (Internet Explorer 10 in Windows 7) - once I set Compatibility View for the page the settings got applied correctly... :)

I have a local GPS referenced NTP clock on my network, is there anywhere I can specify an IP address of a local NTP server to synchronize to ?

See above screen shot showing where you can adjust the NTP time servers, listed under 'Configuration >> System >> Internet Time'
