This router can broadcast and receive on 2 frequencies 2.4 or 5 Ghz, which one is best or should I have both going simultaneously? I am not sure about this.
Thank you

Re: WIFI Freq
Hi,
Assuming you have a 7800DXL or variant, then the two frequencies can be used for different devices/purposes at the same time. Or, you can just use one.
You can find a good explanation here about this: http://compnetworking.about.com/od/wire ... z-gear.htm
Basically, I have mostly Apple gear and use the 5Ghz frequency most of the time. This seems to work well but has a shorter range. I do also use the 2.4 frequency for more remote parts of the house and for an older WiFi printer that only works on this frequency. I also notice less interference on the 5Ghz band, as we have cordless phones and other stuff in the house that use only the 2.4 frequency.
I've seen no issues in running both at the same time, and have seen no major speed advantage of one over the other at the end of the day.
Cheers,
