hi
Trying to get one of these to work logically. It is replacing a draytek 2710n
I have left the default firewall as is, and added these ports to the virtual server. 10.10.2.4 is our email server. DNS / DHCP is on another server but surely I shouldn't have to add this somewhere?
SMTP TCP 25 10.10.2.4 25 Always On
443 TCP 443 10.10.2.4 443 Always On
587 TCP 587 10.10.2.4 587 Always On
4040 TCP 4040 10.10.2.4 4040 Always On
8443 TCP 8443 10.10.2.4 8443 Always On
993 TCP 993 10.10.2.4 993 Always On
5223 TCP 5223 10.10.2.4 5223 Always On
465 TCP 465 10.10.2.4 465 Always On
995 TCP 995 10.10.2.4 995 Always On
I have added the adsl settings correctly and the internet light switches on without issue.
Now, using this router, when I open a web browser and go to my email server "https://mail.example.com/" I get the routers setup page, and the email server cannot be seen from outside, and nobody is getting internet.
Any ideas? I am about to hard reset and upload firmware again from the reset page (hold down reset/switch on)

This is a strange one, as HTTPS, should be using port 443, the routers default web management port is set port 80, so in theory if going to HTTPS web site (using port 443) you should not be redirected to port 80 on the Billion.
One thing to try is to set the web management port on the 7800 to 8080 or any other port you wish to use, from then on you can only contact the unit via http://192.168.1.254:8080.
You can change the web management port on the following page (Advanced >> Configuration >> Advanced >> Device Management'

ok, will try that and will also try upgrading to 1.06h fw if no luck.
Have tried also reseting to the management / firmware upgrade interface as recommended in the instructions but nothing appears on 192.168.1.254 - Been holding down reset and switching on but nothing. (set my ip to 192.168.1.100)
Planning a 'warts and all' amazon review for this if I can't get it to start working like most other routers .... There is a lot to like about this router and I would like to be able to use it!

Reset unit to defaults, uploaded 1.06h fw, did the config from scratch and now it works like a charm - Also changed port 80 management to 8080.
Works far better than the draytek ever did, with far better wifi range.
Thanks for your help.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread.
Did you get port forwarding working for port 80 and/or 443?
All my port forwards work except 80 and 443 (I have changed router management port to 8080)
thanks
