Mode change after firmware update

Post by logicearl »

For a while now, my internet connect has been pretty poor. My ISP (Xilo) has said all along that they have found nothing wrong with the line, which if true, and have no reason to doubt what they say, just leaves me wondering if its the router (7800DXL).

I have flashed the box to the latest firmware
I have now had BT in to move the Master Socket, and in doing so had the cable leading into it replaced.
All internal cabling is new and top quality.
The Master Socket has a filtered faceplate, as supplied by BT.

These are my line stats:
Downstream:
SNR = 6.4
Atten = 17.0
Output Power = 19.9
Attainable Rate = 13632
Rate = 12357

Upstream:
SNR = 23.0
Atten = 12.0
Output Power = 12.3
Attainable Rate = 1522
Rate = 554

After the firmware update, one other thing has changed, from what i can see, and thats this MODE thats on the Stats xDSL page.
Before it read ADSL_2plus, now it reads ADSL_G.dmt

Could this alone be responsible for the slowness of the connection?
If so how does one change the setting?
In fact are any of the two settings the correct one?

Any help would be much appreciated.

TIA
