How do you assign a guest wifi to QoS?
You can use different methods.
The simplest way is to have all known devices a fixed IP, so that all unknown devices (which will be guests normally) will have an IP assigned in the range you decided for DHCP (for example, 192.168.1.100-192.168.1.199). After that, you assign all IPs in this range a limited bandwidth.

So what if we have guests who typed in 192.168.1.25, what then? Where do you assign static ip addresses outside of dhcp? Is it under advanced static arp?
It should be under 'Configuration >> LAN >> Static IP Lease List' found under DNS servers

Steelstar wrote:Ok, I discovered the bug... and it is a MAJOR bug in this router.
I spent about 2 hours trying everything, discovering that QoS limitation worked only on download (WAN to LAN) but not upload (LAN to WAN). Couldn't test prioritization since it is difficult.

Then I discovered. I am connected through PPPoA, since I find it slightly faster (at least here in Italy).
I tried to switch to PPPoE and ... Boom... QoS was working correctly.

Ok, I'll switch to PPPoE, even if I find it hard to believe such a major bug was not noticed before...
The main problem is for those users whose providers use only a PPPoA interface... in this case QoS is useless at the moment.

I expect Billion is going to produce a new firmware in no time to correct this.

I am going to post it in the suggestion forum too.

Nice spot Steelstar, I will discuss the issue with our engineers

We are still investigating, right now, the issue is only with QOS upstream set to limited, on both wireless/lan

If set to PPPOA downstream QOS is working on wireless/lan, upstream set to limited is not working

If to set to PPPOE QOS is working upstream and downstream wireless/lan when set to limited.

Once we finish debugging I will drop a update here

try the firmware on the attached link, QOS upload function should work fine with PPPOA (tested with a wireless device)

Firmware is for the 7800DXL only if any users want the same firmware for the dx/vdox let me know
