Hardware Version: Unknown

Post by Craigeh »

Hi,

Had a really weird issue with my 7800N today. It re'synced this morning then it was fine up until lunch time, however then the connection dropped and didn't reconnect. Because I was at work I couldn't check it until I got home.

When I got in, neither the ADSL or Internet lights were on, and it made no signs of attempting to re-connect. I logged into the web interface, and was greeted with the usual screen, however the Hardware Version was listed as Unknown. I powered off, and powered back on the router, but it still made no attempts to reconnect.

I have had to restore it back to factory settings, and now all is fine.

Has anybody else encountered this problem?

What firmware version are you running?

I have never had this issue, the hardware version listed as unknown is strange.

I'm running 1.06e

It was strange, even more so that it was still listed as unknown after a reboot.

I had to restore it back to factory settings, but here's a screenshot of it now.

It's happened again.

The router refused to give out IP addresses and I feared the worst. Rebooted via the web interface (via a pc with a static IP), it rebooted and now I have this.

Here is the entire contents of the system log http://s.craigy.co.uk/D3vN

I have had to restore the firmware so that I can get back onto the internet.
