I got a 7800DXL today and also getting very slow wifi speeds, but I think I've just found a solution or maybe a workaround (it doesn't seem right that the "auto" setting isn't getting the best speed, but maybe other users on here will have a better idea of what may be wrong)

My solution to this was to go to Configuration > Wireless 2.4G (wl0) > Advanced

Look for the "802.11n Rate" and change it from "Auto" to "121.5Mbps" and click Apply.

The wifi network will briefly drop and restart, you may find devices drop and may need manually reconnecting (I had to switch off wifi and back on again on one iOS device but others were ok) This took the Speedtest.net tool on iOS up from about 2Mbps that I was getting with it on "auto" (at the best) to my full ADSL2+ rate of just under 20Mbps.

I did try setting it to "Use 54G rate" and then adjusting the "54g™ Rate" dropdown lower down that page, but it didn't seem to have much affect. I'd imagine you could play about with the "802.11n Rate" settings to see what works best for you and take it up to a higher speed (mine shows a maximum of 270Mbps on 2.4Ghz, but I didn't see the point in doing so.

Let me know if that improves things for you too.
