Security log empty with BT fibre modem

Post by aniseedvan »

My fibre got connected today, and everything is fine aside from the fact I don't now appear to be getting any packet attacks or whatever they're called in the security log - it's now empty.

My PC connected via a wire had a few Symantec pop ups come up about attempted intrusions, which now worries me that something needs to be enabled, so the router catches them again like it did on ADSL.

Any advice again appreciated!

This is nothing to worry about, I don't have much secuirty logs either on my DXL, (I only have logs when I use remote access, it logs my remote wan IP and states which port I have connected from and too)

The 7800DXL/X/VDOX/DX firewall is on by default, it can be checked under 'WAN Service' and click on the 'Edit' button for your Fibre connection.

If you have any worries you can always use a port scanner to ensure all ports are stealthed/closed (link below)
