HG612 modem

Post by Radiocrazy »

Anyone using the Huawei HG612 modem, because using shields up it shows port 80 open, I found a few links on the internet but it makes no difference (unless I'm messing up) obviously I would like it stealthed

If remote access is enabled on your router, then port 80 will show as opened.

You can change remote access port, using the HTTP setting in the configuration settings, on the DXL.

Hi that just caused me to lose my web interface with the DXL.
I be leave the answer is in the HG612, but not found anything obvious to me anyway.
One strange occurrence which keeps happening not to do with port 80, but now and then the modems orange data LED on port 1 stops working when that happens you can't access the Web interface of the HG612 on port 2, unless you hard reset it and re-flash the firmware and it’s fine again, very strange.

After a lot of experiments I discovered that my surveillance system automatically opened port 80 without my knowledge NAT virtual server in the Billion so I have deleted the entries and now fully stealthed.
You can do what you like with the firewall in the modem it has no effect, next thing to attempt is to put all the settings into the modem so I connects on it’s own.
