WiFi worked flawlessly on day 1, now patchy esp Windows

Hi all

I got my new 7800DXL working first time with Cooperative ADSL, and wifi on all devices (Windows XP; 7; iOS phones; Mac Mavericks). Delighted with coverage to areas that were blackspots with cheaper wifi routers. I made basically no changes to the WiFi admin - wanted to see if it would work with defaults and it seemed to.

But now? Cable connection continues to be fine but WiFi extremely sporadic, with particular difficulty connecting on Windows laptops.

What could have changed? And which settings in this powerhouse should I test first? I'm no expert.

In my experience, it's usually several routers occupying the same channel which prevents some clients from establishing a connection. Download 'InSidder' from Metageek , and check what's going on around you.

I would open up WiFi Diagnostics on Mavericks and scan your area. It will show all of the networks around you, and suggest the best channels for both 2.4 & 5GHz. You can then amend as necessary and see if that improves your setup.

WiFi Diags are located in Macintosh HD/System/Library/CoreServices/Applications

When you open it up, put your admin password in and then press Command 2. The scanning tool will open up....
