Router LAN Issues

Post by rmay_uk »

I have a 7800n router, the LAN seems to work for a few minutes, then stops working, the wireless network does not seem to work either, when I start the router some times its there sometimes it isnt there at all.

I have updated the firmware to 1.06e, has made no difference.

When the LAN fails it stops my entire network.

Is it faulty, or is there a simple fix.

Sounds faulty to me.

However, I did buy a Netgear a year or so ago I thought that was faulty with the same symptoms but it turned out to be a virus/malware on 1 of my computers that as soon as that PC was turned on screwed the router.

That sounds nasty !

Did you have to bin the router or did a factory reset/reflash the f/w resolve it ?

Never did but a rebuild of that particular PC fixed the problem. The router was not affected as such , a restart was all that was necessary.

Looks like rmay could have a different problem then, as it's the same on other pcs.
