Hi,
We have a 7800DXL running the 2.32d firmware. The 2.4G wireless has started being really slow and disconnecting constantly after working fine since we got the router at the beginning of the year.
In the Config>Wireless 2.4G (wl0)>Adv menu it always now shows under Channel: Current: 6 (interference: severe). Well if you change channel, and I have tried them all, right after doing it we get: Current: 6 (interference: acceptable) but once we try logging on to it or refresh the page it reverts back to severe interference and we will have issues with a slow and wobbly connection. The 5G wireless works fine. I have checked for sources of interference such as phones etc and turned them all off so am pretty sure that is not the issue.
A week or so after we got the router we had the same issue and I phoned Billion Support who said to update the firmware, which I did at the time and it cured the problem but as there does not seem to be any updates I am at a loss at how to fix this issue. I have tried soft and hard restarts, resets and factory settings and none have resolved the issue. Any idea? Thanks

Have you tried a wifi scanner, such as InSidder by MetaGeek? I have to use this constantly, as everybody around me keeps changing their wireless channel. The symptoms that you describe, correlate to overlapping channels.

Hi, yes I have used WirelessMon to check for those kind of issues and there are none. We live in a rural location so not many other routers around thankfully.evansnp wrote:Have you tried a wifi scanner, such as InSidder by MetaGeek? Try dropping the 'Bandwidth' to '20mhz'AndyUK wrote:Hi, yes I have used WirelessMon to check for those kind of issues and there are none. Hiya, I tried that as well to no avail, but the issue appears to now have cleared itself of its own accord! Mysterious! Thanks for the help.billion_fan wrote:Try dropping the 'Bandwidth' to '20mhz'AndyUK wrote:Hi, yes I have used WirelessMon to check for those kind of issues and there are none. Re: 7800DXL 2.4G WIFI ISSUES
An update on the issues I have been having. The 2.4g wireless totally locked up again and even a full reset would not stop it showing severe interference and being unusable. Did a little testing toggling on and off various Wireless 2.4g>>>Advanced settings and found that that when I disabled 802.11n/EWC the 2.4g interference then went back to acceptable and its all working fine again. Hopefully this has resolved this mysterious issue. Fingers crossed.
