I read the thread "7800dxl DDNS (dyndns) not working" and updated firmware to 2.32d. I checked the logs and still, my DDNS is not updating.
I am subscribed to DynDNS.org's DynECT Managed DNS service. I tried each of the DynDNS.org options available from the Dynamics DNS Server drop-down on the Dynamics DNS setup page of the 7800DXL. The logs only ever state:
Jul 11 05:13:58 user info syslog: ddnsd: myserver.mydomain.com (ppp0.1) IP has changed from (null) to 999.999.999.99
Jul 11 05:14:01 user info syslog: ddnsd: server might be shutdown
I am guessing perhaps DynDns's Managed DNS Service uses some other server? Anyone have ideas about the error?
Name servers I see are ns1.p23.dynect.net, ns2.p23.dynect.net, etc..

Re: 7800DXL not working with DynDns Managed DNS Service
Have you tried to setup a account with http://freedns.afraid.org/ I tested this a while ago and worked fine, (right now I have a account with no-ip.com that seems to work well)

Is there anything listed after 'Jul 11 05:14:01 user info syslog: ddnsd: server might be shutdown' within the system log?7800DXLCustomer wrote:Thank you for the suggestion, but we have Managed DNS for a reason.billion_fan wrote:Have you tried to setup a account with http://freedns.afraid.org/ I tested this a while ago and worked fine, (right now I have a account with no-ip.com that seems to work well)
