I am in Australia and have the 7800NXL model. Was wondering how can I block my brother's laptop from accessing the internet.
I was able to do this on my old ASUS DSL-N12E via MAC FILTERING. How can I block him using the internet on through the 7800NXL?
We use wired, I have disabled wireless.

Re: 7800NXL
First setup a Static IP Lease rule for your brothers device, then follow the attached screen shot to Block internet access
Please note the screen was taken from a Bipac 7800DXL, as 7800NXL has not been released within the UK at the moment, we have limited info on the model/firmware releases
Screen shot taken from firmware 2.32d.

No problem, just make sure that the IP you add within the 'Static IP Lease list' found under LAN, is assigned to your brothers devices and the rule should block internet accessshadow85 wrote:I can't thank you enough billion fan. I havent tried this yet but Im sure it will work. Thanks again.

OK i tried to block my PC for testing purposes. It seemed to have blocked me from the internet, but I could still chat to people on STEAM chat.
So then I tried this again by blocking my IP source and destination IP, then clicked APPLY. Then for some reason i can access the internet normally.
I then deleted this rule, and tried again by putting in only my IP in source IP. I was once again blocked from the Internet. But for some reason it does not seem to always block me, I could still access web pages sometimes.
I had to redo this several times before it blocked my PC again. Why is this the case? How can I do it so it will block my PC's IP address from accessing the internet completely until I disable it.

This is the way normally to block internet access or another option is to try the 'Time Restriction' (found under 'Security) function in combination with the firewall outgoing rule.shadow85 wrote:OK i tried to block my PC for testing purposes.
