I have a small PBX behind my 7800DXL and I am trying to only allow access by certain external devices.
This is no problem in that I setup a virtual server and then an Exceptional Group for the IP devices I want to provide access.
The problem is however is that one of the external devices is behind a home router with a dynamic IP address. We have setup a dyndns account on that router so that we can always resolve the IP address but I can see no way of setting rules in the 7800DXL using domain names it seems to only accept IP addresses.
Is there a way of using domain names or is there another way of achieving the same thing, or is this just beyond the capability of the 7800DXL.
Thanks
Julian

Re: Using Domain names in Virtual Servers/Exceptional Rule G
Don't think there is a way around this, as the home router is on a dynamic IP address, one option is to ask the ISP (home router ISP) for a static IP address, which will resolve the issue.russelljulian wrote:I have a small PBX behind my 7800DXL and I am trying to only allow access by certain external devices.

The firewall/exceptional group rules will only expect IP addresses
