Hi,
I'm trying to create a Wi-Fi network using my 7800DXL, and then configure various Apple devices (Airport Extreme 6th Gen, Time Capsules, Aiport Express) as client access points on the same Wi-Fi network (i.e. same SSID and channel).
I haven't managed to get the Apple devices to play nicely: if they are all set to "Extend a Wireless Network" then they simply don't see it.
This might be more of an Apple issue than a Billion one, but I was wondering if anyone else had success with setting this up?
Thanks,
Andrew.

Try settings the 7800DXL 2.4ghz bandwidth to 20mhz (found under Advanced) and see if your apple devices are able to see the 2.4ghz bandmacabstract wrote:Hi,

Re: WDS from 7800DXL to Apple Airport Extreme
I have a similar setup that works fine.
I've got the latest gen Time Capsule, that I use as an access point for all my Apple devices. I broadcast on both 2.4 and 5Ghz ranges. And use a simple SSID such as Wifi 5G or Wifi 2.4G. I then also use my Billion to broadcast with a slightly different SSID to all other devices (non Apple). Again this is set to broadcast on both frequencies.
It was as simple as plugging in the TC to the Billion using the ethernet cable, and setting up in Airport Utility using Bridge Mode (Off). I have assigned all of my devices a static IP on the Billion, and didn't really do much else to get it up and running.
[UPDATE] FYI, having a look through the settings in my Airport Utility, I used Create Network and not Extend Network.
Maybe you are over complicating things and need to simplify it, to get it all talking to each other.
