What's eating my bandwidth?

Post by DrSteve »

Hi. Just a quick question about bandwidth monitoring on the 7800dxl. Is there any way to find out what device on the network is using the bandwidth?
I'm currently having periods of lag on my connection with latency spikes. Looking at Bandwidth Usage >WAN service it shows a fairly steady trace of around 560,000 Bytes/sec on PPPOA on an up to 8meg ADSL connection. I currently have a sync rate of 5600Kbps so this is not far off the max. There are multiple devices connected at home - phones, tablets, Sky boxes, consoles. Is there any way to see which one is responsible? Can I see data use by IP or MAC address?? Thanks.

Unfortunately you can only view the data usage by using the 'Bandwidth Usage >> LAN Bandwidth Usage' this should let you know which ports/wireless networks is using the most bandwidth (it should narrow the search down)
