VPN

Post by mangoboom »

How do I allow my router (7800DXL) to support VPN traffic ?

I Had it running fine on my standard HomeHub 3 but can't figure out how to allow VPN traffic now ?

Hi

Do you mean you want to VPN into your network from elsewhere, or VPN out?

Regards

So you have a VPN server behind the 7800?? If so use the NAT >> Virtual server option, and make sure the gateway on your PPTP server points to the routers IP address.

Unlike the other poster (mangoboom), I want to be able to VPN out from home, where I'll be having the Billion router, to work where they have a VPN system already in place and that uses a Cisco VPN client.

It isn't clear to me if the Billion routers support this or if I need one that specifically has VPN support? If I buy the 7800DXL will I be able to VPN out?

Thank you for your reply. The VPN they have uses IPsec/UDP.

I have since bought a Billion 7800DXL and can confirm that I am able to VPN out from my network at home (where I'm using the 7800DXL) to the office network (where the Cisco VPN server is) and it is working fine. This works over both remote desktop connection and using the browser to connect to servers on the office network such as an internal forum, development webservers, etc...

hello
I have problems to connect to the office network with cisco vpn IPsec/UDP from my 7800dxl billion. Can you tell me if there is any parameter that I must enable on my router?

Try the attached firmware and make sure the ALG >> IPSEC is set to disabled
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
