Yes you can QOS to limit the device

1. Setup a Static IP lease list for the device (so the device receives the same IP address from the router everytime) and reboot the device to renew its IP address
2. Setup a QOS rules to limit the upload and download for this device, have a look at the following thread where I posted some examples viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3979 (in the internal IP address section enter the IP address you have entered within the static IP lease)

Thats great thank you. I will give that a go.

In the mean time (and if anyone else has a similar problem with an Android phone) I have disabled all synching in Google accounts, but after a little playing around it appears to be linked to the Photos or Video back up to Google+ and possibly the 'auto awesome' feature that is turned off via a browser in Google+ Settings. I cant be 100% certain that it's the photos/video/awesome thing without more time testing.

:D

If it is a backup problem (meaning upload) just setup a QOS rule to limit the devices upload to 80% or 90%.

Been getting this problem since last Friday morning.

Upgraded firmware to latest but it's still happening. Looks like it will need returning.

it's been rock solid since May but this is a mystery.

Do you mean the reboot issue you posted on the other thread (this is new 7800 series section not the older 7800/N section)

No I have two.

i upgraded to the dxl but that's failed so i have had to revert back to my 7800n which has the crash issue. I upgraded because i was getting btcloud installed.

If you disconnect all your devices does it still happen?

Had Btcloud voice installed in May and upgraded the router at the same time as felt the 7800n was becoming unreliable due to the gui crash. 7800dxl been fine since. Although with a few odd niggles like unable to connect to vnc pc's with vurtual server configured indentically. (they are back working now with the 7800n reconnected!)

Friday morning at 10am i got into the office and the phones had gone down. I knew the router now played a crucial part in the new phone system but naturally blamed BT for this downtime. Also Billions have been so reliable for me in the past. Phoned BT and no faults reported in our area at all.

There was also no internet at all and yet the green internet light was still illuminated. Even with this illuminated i couldn't login to the router via the webpage (wired directly in) so I knew something wasn't right with the router itself as this was unusual during internet disconnections in my experience.
The Bt openreach modem was functioning fine too. I was able to reboot everything and get it all going again but today the phones and internet went down again so had to upgrade the firmware to see if that helped. It didn't and kept the dropping the connection even more frequently.

I now have to see how the 7800n get's on. If it also drops connection then i know its a problem with the network environment here. But somehow i doubt it because it's all been fine since May. But i also wanted to make sure the gui issue with the 7800n could be resolved first hence the other post. Each time it reboots the phone system also goes down which is a pain as you can imagine.

will test this before the firmware upgrade.

Actually, if you are referring to the dxl then it's quite hard for me to test that because i need to be here when it happens and it only happens during business hours. I'd have to sit and wait for it to happen outside of normal working time.
