Many times, including a factory reset at BT support request. I will do it again now the bridge setting is correct but it will have to be later on so I will post an update then. Many thanks for your help so far.

Can you try editing the 'Bridged' WAN profile, and change ' Encapsulation Mode ' to 'LLC/SNAP Bridging'

If that fails change edit the Bridging WAN profile again and change the Type to 'IP Over Ethenet' VPI=0, VCI=65, Encapsulation Mode ' to 'LLC/SNAP Bridging'

Changed the Bridged WAN Profile to LLC/SNAP but the ADSL did not come back up and I could not get into the router. Have had to do router reset so not popular here at the moment. Will have to wait to upload last config file before I will be able to play again.

That's strange the bridge profile should not effect the DSL sync, maybe something messed up, hence the reason you couldn't login to the router

Tried the two bridge changes without any joy. The Encapsulation Mode shows as connected but no content appears, the IPoE just shows as connecting but gets no further and again no content.

The only other option is a two box solution, you BT home hub connects to the phone line, the 7800 is configured for Ethernet mode >> IP over Ethernet, a Ethernet cable from the BT home hub to the EWAN port on the 7800, your BT vision box connected to the BT Home Hub, and finally login to the BT home hub, and put the WAN IP the 7800 obtains for the BT home hub into DMZ, then everything else connects to the 7800.

(ps make sure both devices 7800 and BT home hub are not running within the same subnet eg billion on 192.168.1.254 BT home hub on 192.168.0.1)

I might be being stupid here (it has been known), but if the 7800 is running pretty much the same build of software as the 8800, shouldn't the config be the same?
I have BT TV working, with no issues, by following the excellent guide in the 8800 section.
