Is what i am looking for a dmz. I dont mind the computer that i want to isolate being open to the internet because i can run a firewall on that. What i dont want is the dmz computer being able to access the computers connected to my 7800n that are not on the dmz.
would that solve my problem?
Advice appreciated
Dan

No all DMZ does is open all ports to a IP address, so if you don't want to do port forwarding or if your device uses different ports to access a service on the internet (example Playstation 3) you can put your device into DMZ, to fully expose the device to the internet. DMZ will not isolate your device on the network.

sorry to bring such an old post back to life but as i am now using fibre i need this feature pretty badly. So it is either find a solution using the billion or buy a new modem. Any suggestions.
Firewall?
vlan ?
bridge ?
Is it possible to split the ports onto different subnets
Is it possible to restrict access to the web gui by port number?
My warranty is well and truly up so I dont mind experimenting with the cli. I really need to block one computer from accessing any other on the network but all computers still need internet access and the computer that is isolated must not be able to access the web gui or telnet or ftp etc.
Thanks in advance
