It certainly hung more quickly when the WD MyCloud was connected but it did hang irrespective.

I have now parcelled it up and sent it back as it was driving me crazy.

Amazon have stated that they will issue a refund, but that leaves with an option of purchasing the same model again or an alternative.

Any suggestions?

My only suggestion is if it hangs without your cloud then I would send it back and try a replacement and flash the latest firmware.
