Hi,
BiPAC 8800NL R2 running 2.50a.d13. I cannot update to anything else as I have an issue where it seems to reboot every few hours on every other firmware I've tried.
My new issue however is the router seems to create endless port openings via UPNP but never closes them. I've included a screenshot which shows a few but the list is probably 100 items long.
I can manually delete these but why are they not being removed by the router? I think these are related to a single app (a baby monitor on ios/macos) so this may be an issue with that app but surely the router should still clean up once the app is closed?
Thanks for any help.

I am checking with our engineers about the UPNP rules, regarding the rebooting issue, I will need a copy of the system log before the router reboots, so we can investigate and hopefully capture the fault.snowlucas wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2017 11:20 pm Hi,

I have a another customer with the same issue (rebooting on latest firmware) so this issue is be investigated.
I would suggest staying on 2.50a.d13 for now, until I have more feedback

Re: UPNP keeps ports open and adds more
Thanks for getting back to me. Went back to the HH5 for 24hrs but the upload speed is (and was when I used it before the 8800NL) slower so I'm keen to get the 8800nl working better for me.
All my issues seem to really come down the the router part not the modem so I have changed tactic and I am now using an Apple Airport Extreme as the router and the Billion 8800NL R2 as the modem. Method is PPPoe on the Airport which also takes care of DCHP and NAT. On the Billion I have changed the PTM to bridged. It connects and I am happy with this setup.
Couple of quick questions. How can I get access to the Billion web GUI? The Airport DCHP is the range 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254. I did try turning off the DCHP on the Billion and giving it a static ip address of 192.168.0.254 but I couldn't connect to the GUI. On the current settings I have left the lan settings on the Billion at default (DCHP on and ip 192.168.1.254 I believe). Its no longer accessible on 192.168.1.254. Any tips?
Is it possible to use it in bridge mode and still use Dynamic DNS updating as the Airport routers dow not have this feature?

Set a static IP address to the LAN card eg 192.168.1.100, and then plug a Ethernet connection directly to the 8800NL, you should then be able to login on http://192.168.1.254snowlucas wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2017 2:23 pm Thanks for getting back to me. Regarding Dynamic DNS, no as 8800NL is working as a bridge and does not obtain a WAN IP

Re: UPNP keeps ports open and adds more
Ok thanks. I’m using a different method for the dynamic dns updates now.
So could I turn on the billion Wi-fi and connect via that to see the gui? Not my preferred option but I don’t have Ethernet on my laptop.
Can I just change the ip on the billion router to one in the 192.168.0 range and turn off dchp?

You should be able to connect via wifi, with a static IP.snowlucas wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2017 4:20 pm Ok thanks. I’m using a different method for the dogs updates now.

Changing the IP address to 192.168.0.x won't work because the router is set to bridge mode.
