I'm trying to set up DDNS with a subdomain on one of my Google Domains.
They use the same dyndns2 protocol as lots of the preinstalled providers.
I have all the config details, but the 8800AXL R2 has a dropdown box with 20+ providers with no custom provider option. If I could enter a custom value it should work fine.
I need to use 'domains.google.com' as the DDNS provider which isn't listed. Is there any way I can do this manually, like adding it via telnet instead of the webgui?

I had the same problem, and somebody steered me towards DNS-O-Matic (which is in the list), which is basically a broker for pretty much any type of service. I've been using it for several years now, with no issues.

Re: Custom DDNS service
Did anything come of this?
It looks like OpenDNS have broken DNS-O-Matic for many routers. See here for more:

A Custom URL Update option would really help expand the options.

Interesting, what model is that? I just get ddnsd: update all.dnsomatic.com request failed. Please check the setting. But there is very little in the way of settings to change.

Re: Custom DDNS service
I find this hard to believe, but since looking at my DDNS settings, and doing the screen grabs last night, my log is full of ddns update errors!
To me, it looks like something has changed on the DNSoMatic end which Billion doesn't like, but my Synology NAS's ddns service is happy with,
@Billion_Fan: can this be looked into as a matter of urgency please, as this is the only way that a lot of people can access a ddns service?
