BT infinity Installation

Post by A Billion Dollar$ »

I am having BT Infinity 2 installed tomorrow and instead of requesting the new Home Hub 4, i bought the Billion Bipac 7800DX after superb customer experiences on Amazon.

I would like to know how i should set up my BT infinity broadband for the first time without BT's official router; the Home Hub 4.

Will i be able to set up the BT infinity internet access for the first time using the Billion 7800DX or do i have to use the Home Hub 4 for the initial set-up.

Also, if it is possible to set up internet with the Billion 7800DX, how simple is it?

Do i just plug the openreach modem into the Billion 7800DX and turn everything up?

Can someone write up a step by step guide specific to BT infinity?

The UK quick start guide should cover your setup for a BT infinity connection.

1. Turn on your Bt open reach modem
2. Plug a ethernet connection from your Bt open reach modem to the EWAN port on the 7800DX
3. Follow the on screen setup to setup your router, or follow the UK quick start to help you get setup (make sure you have a connection to the 7800DX, so you can set it up)

You should be able to use the 7800DX for the first setup
