I am upgrading from a 7800N and my ISP is with BeThere.co.uk
The 7800N was working well until the Wifi died hence the 7800DX purchase.

On the 7800DX there is no selection for an MPoA connection type which I was using on the 7800N.

Reading over the forums here I saw to try and use the IPoE connection type on the 7800DX.
With this IPoE connection type and the same settings as the MPoA connection on my 7800N 0/102 wan ip by dhcp etc.
I get line sync but no internet connection. The WAN dhcp does not get an IP nothing else happens. Had it plugged in like this for hours now and still nothing.

Is my 7800DX faulty or is there a problem with my settings. I have attached a screenshot of the configuration from the 7800N and 7800DX.

Has anyone else managed to get a 7800DX connected with bethere.co.uk?

Any help appreciated. The 7800DX is nothing but an expensive paperweight at the moment!

Have you tried IPoA? Not sure IP over Ethernet is the correct one.

I did take a look at IPoA and even tried it before.
The Bethere.co.uk connection needs the wan IP to be allocated by Dhcp.
IPoA connection settings on the 7800dx requires the use of a fixed IP so it didn't work.

Phew all working now. Thanks to the billion support staff.

Problem was that it takes a long time for the modem to get a new dhcp lease when swapping between different modems on BE's network.

Not sure exactly how long it took but I left it before I left for work and when I got back home it was finally connected. Billion support mentioned it can take as long as 2 hours.

My settings have been correct (as given in the quick start guide for a BE connection), it was just me being impatient.

Easy to think something is wrong when you are used to it syncing up and immediately connecting.

I believe there is a Renew and Release button in the Billion's web interface menu, Status->WAN.
Hitting Release will probably have the same effect as given in BE's tech notes.

My guess that is you are swapping over modem's and don't want to wait for BE to release on their side.
1) Hit the "release" button in Status-WAN
2) Disconnect the phone line from router before it tries to connect again
3) Power down the router
4) Connect the new router up

Haven't tried this yet. But if I ever have to I will post an update if nobody tries it before I do,
