Hi all,
I purchased a Billion 7800DXL in June and it has been running fine with my BT Broadband service. I get around 3.5MB downstream and it holds on to a connection very well. I have set it up to notify me via email when I get a new WAN IP. This last 3 or 4 days, I am getting around 30 emails per day saying there has been a WAN IP change.
Not sure why this is happening, could it be a router fault or my ISP?
I phoned my ISP (BT) and they checked the line, said it was OK, since I am not using a BT homehub, they suggested to re-set my Billion to factory settings, which I did but it is still doing the same.
Just wondering what options I have and what I should start looking at. I am running 2.32b, which came with the unit.
Thanks.
Scott

I have just found out they have been upgrading my exchange and now FC is suddenly available for me so have placed an order. I checked last week and it wasn't, would this be the reason my WAN IP keeps changing over the last 3-4 days?

It could be as they might be upgrading the local exchangescwilson wrote:I have just found out they have been upgrading my exchange and now FC is suddenly available for me so have placed an order. I have an engineer coming on 17th October to install Infinity for me. Still unsure why I get a new WAN IP every 5 mins or so. As you say, it might be exchange related.

The frequency of the WAN IP changes have reduced now. I believe BT are working on the issue so clearly an exchange problem. I actually tried with an old BT HomeHub 3.0 and got the same results as with the Billion, swapped cables and everything.
