FTP unmount issues

On a 7800DX with firmware 2.32c:
When doing an FTP unmount (Configuration->USB->StorageDeviceInfo) I've noticed the following:
1. With a client connected, but inactive, it won't sometimes won't unmount.
2. With a client connected, but innactive, it unmounts, but the client remains connected and is allowed to perform further file transfers.
This doesn't seem desirable to me, Is this behaviour correct ?
ps. The ability to remount, after an unmount, without having to physically re-plug the USB device would be nice!
