Hi
could someone explain the various DNS setting options in the router interface, for example there are option to set up DNS in the following places...
Configuration - LAN
Configuration - WAN -PTM interface
Advanced - DNS
How do these settings relate to one another, and what is the difference between them?
Thanks
Tom

Re: DNS confusion
Configuration - LAN = The router will not be used for a DNS server what ever DNS address you enter here will be assigned to clients directly (bypassing the routers internal DNS cache)frogfoot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 1:18 pm Hi

Configuration - WAN -PTM interface = The DNS server used for the internet connection that the router will use for internal DNS cache (makes DNS resolving faster if the website has been visited before it will use the same IP address to resolve the DNS request as this is stored on the routers cache) If a new DNS request is performed it will use the DNS server set here and also store this to the routers DNS cache (when Use Router as DNS server is used)
Advanced - DNS = Same as above (Configuration - WAN -PTM interface)
